To rousle is an old Worcestershire word meaning "to wake up".
The 2016 edition of The Bromsgrove Rousler is now available, thanks to the efforts of all the contributors.
This year Quintin Watt introduces us to another of Bromsgrove's unsung heroes, Benjamin Pearce. His story will continue in next year's Rousler. Two of this year's articles are set in the Bournheath area. Julian Hunt tells us of the history of The Clock House and Jeff Taylor recalls two of the bailiffs of Bromsgrove Court Leet who lived at Fockbury Farm. We are also spreading our net wider this year as Rita Malpass recounts the story of her family, the Hillmans of Inkberrow, and John Phillips takes us to Wychbold. Have you ever wondered what was inside that building by the radio masts? Now you will have a chance to find out.
The Bromsgrove Rousler is published in December each year and costs just £2.50. It is available from Bromsgrove town centre outlets including W.H.Smith, Oxfam Bookshop, Foto Factory, Worcester Road News & Array Fruit Farm. It can also be obtained from Blackwell, Fairfield & Stoke Prior post offices, Burcot and Willowbrook Garden Centres, Feckenham Community Shop, Grace's Cards at Droitwich, and Kennedy's Hardware, Rubery.
The Bromsgrove Rousler is also available as a paid download (Adobe 'pdf' format), also at £2.50. THE 2016 ISSUE IS AVAILABLE BELOW. Payment is accepted by Paypal or debit/credit card (you do NOT need to setup a Paypal account to purchase).
