The first episode of this fascinating series, developed with the University of Worcester, traces the effects of the First World War on the lives of children in Worcestershire.

Historian Anna Muggeridge explores how this changed life in the schoolroom and how, as the war progressed children of all ages played a vital role in keeping the nation fed. Children as young as 10 years worked - often for very little reward - in fields and orchards across the county.
