Description

821 Years of History in our Town: The Bromsgrove Court Leet. Speaker: Neil Beaumont Neil is currently the Reeve of the Court Leet and is in an excellent position to give us an authoritative and fully-researched account of this ancient Court. Although Bromsgrove Court Leet’s Charter dates from 1199, its origins are both more archaic and arcane. This presentation begins with the Anglo-Saxons and takes us on a journey featuring nine monarchs (and five pubs) right up to the present and the final vestiges of its once considerable powers as displayed at the assizes on Fair Day.
