Participation is free of charge and is open to members and non-members.

Please use this form to book for one or more of these talks. A link to the online Zoom meeting and instructions on how to join will be sent by email around 48 hours before each talk. 'Doors' will open at 2.15pm to allow people time to login and connect to the meeting.

The Talks

Weds 1st July: The History of Perry Hall

Speaker: Julian Hunt

There is more to Perry Hall than the Housmans. Julian Hunt will introduce us to Roger Lowe, the leading royalist at the time of the Civil War, Benjamin Humphrys, the 18th century linen manufacturer, and John Adams, worsted manufacturer whose sister married a Housman. He will attempt to dispel some myths about the picturesque ruins to the south east of the house, and he will tell us how Perry Hall came to be an hotel!
